Dr. Ankur Talati
Dr. Ankur Talati was born in India and moved to Danbury, CT as a young child with his family. He attended the University of Connecticut at Storrs where he found his desire to pursue dentistry as it combined medical science and hands-on patient care. One of the forces behind his desire to pursue dentistry was shadowing multiple dentists, including Dr. Aledort. Dr. Talati saw how they were able to help address dental disease while making sure the patients felt comfortable throughout the appointment. After completing his undergraduate education, Dr. Talati was accepted into the prestigious dental school program at the University of Connecticut.
After completing dental school and obtaining a certificate in AEGD at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Talati practiced as a general dentist for four years. During his time as a general dentist, he saw the need for good endodontic treatment, firsthand. Being able to alleviate patients’ pain while providing meticulous treatment on the same day encouraged Dr. Talati to further his education in the specialty of endodontics at the University of Connecticut.
During his residency, under the mentorship of faculty at the program, Dr. Talati learned how to diagnose complex cases. He treated difficult cases with a variety of different treatment options such as surgical retreatment, and most importantly, how to empathize and relate with patients who may be going through a painful toothache. Dr. Talati was selected as chief resident in his last year where responsibilities included patient assignment and representing residents at various meetings with faculty and staff. He was also awarded the AAE /Endo1 Partners Resident award for research at the AAE annual meeting in 2022.
Dr. Ankur Talati lives in Danbury with his wife and they love to travel during their free time. He likes hiking, playing basketball, and cricket. Dr. Talati also likes to spend time with his families and will often go to see them on weekends.
